The Sweet Iron bits are made of iron and have a recognisable blue colour. Sweet Iron develops surface rust through contact with (air) moisture, which tastes sweet and naturally stimulates saliva production. The horse will foam more, making it accept the bit better.
This side piece has a D-shape. The D-rings ensure that the mouthpiece lies steady and stable in the horse's mouth. The pressure of the side pieces against the cheek makes it easier to turn by automatically pushing the horse's head slightly in the right direction. This also makes the bit suitable for young horses. The shape of the cheek piece makes it less easy to pull the bit through the mouth.
This is a straight bar with medium tongue freedom. The tongue freedom allows the tongue to move freely. Tongue freedom creates space for the tongue and reduces pressure on the centre of the horse's tongue. More tongue freedom is ideal for horses that have a sensitive tongue or horses that stick out their tongue. This bit is not suitable for the inexperienced rider.
